Mahayahay is a private and exclusive beach property open to the discerning public when the owners are not in residence.
Located in Barangay Kawit, Medellin, north-west Cebu Island around 130 KM from Cebu City (3 to 3-1/2 hours drive), Mahayahay occupies 10,000 SQM land area and has 150 M of beachfront fronting a white sand beach opposite Gibitnil or Funny Island.
The property consists of the Main House, two Villas for guests and the Living Quarters for our Housekeeper and her family, plus a large Gazebo. There is plenty of parking space and space for tents.
Guests have access to the Main House and can use the Lounge, equipped with TV, stereo and DVD player and karaoke, and the fully equipped kitchen which includes a fridge/freezer, oven, stove, toaster, rice cooker, microwave and water fountain. The Verandah has a 12-seater dining table, a bar and a Gas Barbecue. Pizza deliveries can be arranged and there is a restaurant in the Emelia Hotel in Kawit village.
The two Villas each have two single beds provided with sheets and towels and are fully air-conditioned as well as with Fans. The adjoining shower and comfort rooms have hot water for the showers and provided with soap.
Wireless internet is available throughout most of the property. The grounds have a barbecue pit and a separate Shower and Toilet Block.
Mahayahay is self-catering. Basic cooking utensils, pots and pans, rice cooker, cutlery, crockery, plates and glasses are provided. Food and fresh fish can be purchased at Kawit market, which is just 10-15 minutes’ walk. Bigger markets are at Daan Bantayan and Bogo, the latter also has supermarkets and Malls. Our housekeeper can help you with shopping and cooking for a small fee.
NOTE: Smoking is not permitted in the cottages nor near the buildings as there is a fire risk. Fire Extinguishers and First Aid Kits are available.
